I NEED BIG HELP! I JUST INSTALLED FEDORA CORE 5 AND IM A BIG LINUX NOOBIE! I’VE TRYED 2 OTHER LIVE CD’S AND NOW I DECIDED TO INSTALL ON MY DELL INSPIRON LAPTOP 600M(WINDOWS WOUDNT LOAD AND I NEEDED AN O.S) I WANNA KNOW IF THERE IS A PROGRAM SIMILIAR TO THE MICROSOFT WINDOWS NETWORK CONNECTION THINGY WHERE YOU SEARCH AND HAVE A LIST OF AVAILABLE CONNECTIONS TO CONNECT TO? WHEN I GO TO CONNECT TO SERVER I HAVE TO FILL IN ALL THESE SPACES HOW DO I GET THAT TO WORK? I’M CURRENTLY CONNECTED TO A WIRELESS CONNECTION(I DONT KNOW WHO THE HOST COMPUTER IS…..) AND WANT TO KNOW HOW TO CONNECT TO THE SAME CONNECTION BUT ON MY LINUX LAPTOP. ALL ANSWERS WILL BE ACCEPTED IF U NEED ANY QUESTIONS POST THEM AS AN ANSWER AND ILL GIVE SOME DETAILS AND YOU GUYS CAN EDIT YOUR ANSWERS. PLZZZ HELP-.-

I’m using Windows XP, and have decided to try out Ubuntu Linux. I plan to try the Live CD first, and later maybe install it.
I have a few questions:

1. I read somewhere that the ‘Live CD’ will not require any installation . Will this Live CD allow me to use Linux the same way as if it was installed in the computer?
2. I don’t know a lot about computers, can I still use Linux?
3. Any steps/precautions I should take before installing ubuntu (besides backing up necessary files)?
4. Any step by step guides on installing/uninstalling ubuntu (in case I get into trouble) ?

I have windows XP SP2 installed in NTFS .When I try to install Linux it shows unable to find hard disk.Even if I repartion the harddisk in FAT.It is unable to detect hard disk.But live CD versions of linux like slax,dynebolic are running well.What I have to do?
