I was editing the burn effect in compiz and i was messing around with the partical size and i remember trying out 19. My whole screen turned the color i set it to and now every time after i login when the window burns away Linux Crash’s. I have a Ubuntu 9 edition live cd can i fix the problem from there and if not how>
how do i stop this the disc works in my other computer?

it also (sometimes) has the desktop background or the mouse?
it comes up with a blue square which then turns into a window after about twenty years of loading but there’s nothing in it!
i WONT give up!

I want to reinstall my windows and then do a dual boot with linux on my laptop. How should I do this? Should I reinstall windows first and then install linux? Or will installing ubuntu linux via the live CD reformart the windows partition for me? Also how do I dual install linux? Do I have to partition my HD first or can I just pop in the live CD and follow the prompts?
I’m really interested in downloading the Ubuntu Linux ISO so I can boot it from a live CD, rather than always using Vista. But, I’ve heard mixed opinions on whether or not to re-partition my HD. My initial thought is that I could probably keep my HD in its current state as long as I run Ubuntu from Live CD rather than installing directly to the hard disk, but I’m not sure. Any direction would be greatly appreciated!

see, i got hte live CD thing from hte ubuntu linux website, and when i put it to a CD “burn image tool, it was fine and all…. but this morning when i tried it out, it loaded and everything, but when i click try live cZd it loaded but froze midway, and then the screen went black and my monitor’s light was going on and off, like it was on standby or something… HELP mE
