How to use Pikatel USB Moden in Ubuntu 9.04 ?

Hi guys, I live in turkey and I got a ubuntu dvd from a magazine here so thought I’d try it. Well, I’m in love. It’s fast and beautiful unlike his ugly cousin windows. I hate windows and now I see light at the end of the tunnel.

My problem is I have a pikatel USB modem:

Ok I learned that linux has a problem with usb modems, win-modems or whatever you call them. I googled and I did find lot’s of guides but none really worked. Does anyone know how to connect using this exact modem? And um, you know it has a driver cd, could I just install the driver using wine? Gay question I guess but well I’m new to ubuntu hehe.

Pardus 2009.1 live cd…….KDE with a turkish twist….

Here we have pardus from turkey,a gov sponsored Linux development i am led to believe, and this incarnation is very nice too,now the version i downloaded did not have any installer so have had to run it in the box to get a capture for you,but on the whole its quite good, but i will wait for the new version with the installer (2010) and then give it another go. Watch in fullscreen and HD………….
