I downloaded a ISO of Ubuntu Live, and burned it to a CD. I booted from it, connected my External Drive, and installed Linux to the Drive. I rebooted my computer while holding down the option key, and the boot manager only showed my Mac and Windows partitions.
What am I doing wrong?

like if you have a linux live cd or something can you boot it up from that? do you just put in the disk and start it up or do you put in the disk, turn it on and hold the alt option key?
