Anyone with experience using a Linux distro with KDE 4?

I’m looking to experiment with KDE, I’ve used Gnome distros up until this point. I’ve read multiple reviews and forum articles talking about KDE 4 still being unstable, but also have seen Pardus, Linux Mint 8 KDE, and Mandriva 2010 singled out as strong releases dealing with this issue. Any Linux users who could address the (supposed) KDE 4 instablitity issues/recommend a distro would be welcome. I’m looking to install this along side my main Mint 8 distro, not just play around with it as a Live CD experience, so any help narrowing the field without culling through 10-15 distros would be very helpful.

PS: My system is a modern one, with plenty of RAM and a 3.0 Ghz processor, so it’s more than enough to handle the resource demands of KDE 4.

I love the quick boot of the PUPPY LINUX, are there other quick boot live cd’s?

I would like to use my old copy of windows XP, but it won’t load on my newer laptop nomatter how I tweek my BIOS. I love the quick boot and simplicity of PUPPY LINUX, but it won’t connect wirelessly to my AIRPORT EXTREME. I tried MANDRIVA, it’s nice to look at but it’s too big and it’s too slow to boot and shut down. I’m currently trying KNOPPIX, but it didn’t boot. Besides, it’s a large file like MANDRIVA and I expect it’ll be just as slow, but I’ll try again Does anyone know of any quick boot PUPPY LINUX type of live cd’s?

why is my computer is making funny noises?

it does not come from the tower and i only hear it when i am running windows neither the mandriva or the ubuntu versions of linux i run off of live cds make this noise, the noise is hard too explain but it got there after i let a so called expert get ahold of it and found my mother board lying on the floor,my ram was missing, in his computer but i got it back together, i’ve ran both Avg and Avira anti viruses as well as malwarebytes anti malware but nothing is being found
and by the way i am not running avira and avg at the same time i got tired of avg not finding anything so i switched to avast and then too avira
ok a bit more info sorry i forgot this it’s like a wierd beeping noise coming from my speakers
