Something seriously wrong with my GB hard drive.?

I decided to load up my computer up one day and, it comes to a screen where it asks me if i wanted to load windows normaly, in safe mode, etc….and i do normal mode….then just after it comes to the windows loading screen it will restart and come back to the screen, i have tried all of the modes and havent had any luck, all dose the same….I wanted to try to back up my important files and i have done a number of things to try to do that such as, load up linux live cd, put the hard drive as a slave in my other computer with windows xp…i try to access the harddrive and it will sort of freeze up my pc…..whats wrong with my harddrive and how can i fix it????

need help installing Linux on live CD!?

i downloaded linux ubuntu and wanted to try the live cd to see how it all works. i downloaded ubuntu from linux.com then it automatically burned to a blank disc. when i insert the disc, the splash start pops up showing the Ubuntu graphic, and below says, “loading browser, please wait….” then after a few seconds, closes down and nothing else happens.

how do i proceed from here?

Why does my computer restart when loading Ubuntu Linux live CD?

I keep trying to start Ubuntu Linux in live CD mode, but it isn’t working. Right after the window that says “Loading Linux Kernel” the computer restarts. I am using a new computer that I just built. My specs are:

AMD Athlon 64 3800+ 2.4 GHz
160 GB Seagate HD (Partitioned into 2 80GB segments. I was planning on installing Linux on one of the partitions)
2 GB RAM
64 Mb S3 virge video card
48x CD-ROM

The video card and CD-ROM are old, and I used them for right now because they were just laying around anyway. I’m going to upgrade both of them as soon as I have enough money, but everything else is new, and i haven’t noticed any other problems with any of the components.

I get a BSoD when loading windows??????

When I turn the computer ON and it boots up with Windows XP Home Edition, it just all of a sudden flashes up with the Blue Screen of Death, but only for half a second and i cant get a look at it?????

I got no idea whats going on, can someone please help me with easy steps.

I have tried using Safe Mode, and it goes through its precesses, then does the same thing, so I can’t access my computer any way, and i tried using a Live CD of Luit Linux that has been based on DAMN SMALL LINUX, and I cant access my files from Windows XP…..

The only reason im not just formatting it, is because I want to save the files on there because I need them really badly for work…..

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME PLEASEEEEEE ! ! ! !

Everytime i boot, my pc always show this message:”error loading OS”…. how can i fix this?

it happened before and it was resolved my reformating by pc via installing linux because i cant access my pc by windows setup alone /*and i dont know why..*/ please help me….

my original OS is windows….. and i dont have bi-OS /*if thats the term… */ i dont really know how but last time it worked… and here’s the odd thing… i can access my files by linux live cd… /*knoppix*/… i really dont want to reformat my pc…./*as much as possible cos i 4got 2 backup my files!!! im so stupid!!!!*/ my programming assignments are there 4 gods sake!!! huhu… help me…
