Can anyone help concerning linux?

I am currently having a lot of problems with my laptop (see my other questions for details) and someone has recommended I use a linux live cd and then switch to a linux OS. But someone else has told me that because linux isn’t a very widely used OS it isn’t compatible with a lot of things. I know that linux is used in universities so I guess it would be perfect for me to do my college work but I mostly use my laptop for personal use. I have been told that linux won’t allow me to use alot of the programmes I currently use such as: itunes, bit torrent, miro, and certain websites like youtube and facebook. Can anyone tell me more about linux? I don’t have a clue when it comes to stuff like this.

How do I exactly install Fedora Linux onto another partition?

I’ve been trying to get Fedora Linux onto my Vista laptop where I can dual boot and I can’t seem to get it. I made a partition already that is 50GB and booted up into Linux with a Live CD. I went to the desktop and opened the install to HD option and got up to the part where you chose how to install it onto there, etc. I would like to dual boot and use that 50GB as a Linux OS. How do I do this?

How to restore F3 boot option from Symantec Ghost?

I have MSI Megabook S270 running on Windows XP (OEM). I recently installed Windows 7 Release Candidate on drive D (Windows XP is on drive C). It turns out that I don’t like Seven. Now I want to restore everything, but it seems the F3 options from Symantec Ghost (right after BIOS-boot) doesn’t come out. I already checked the partition with Active Partition Manager that the recovery partition (drive 1) is still there. And I also checked with Puppy Linux OS Live (running on CD) that the partition is accessible. I don’t know whether the recovery data is incomplete or not.
I don’t have a recovery CD/DVD, the notebook came to me only with DC adapter, nothing else.

My question is: how to restore the F3 option. I want to restore Windows XP to the original manufacturer setting.

Thank you so much…

Where do I get Windows and Mac emulators for PCLinuxOS?

Today I switched from Ubuntu to PCLinuxOS because of all the great reviews and it took about 5 min to get me to take that live CD and put it onto my hard drive. There is only one problem I have found with it, I can’t find any Windows or Mac OS X emulators for it. The ones I had from Ubuntu don’t work on PCLinuxOS and I don’t feel like buying more for this Linux OS so are there any free ones? Just something free that will let me use my Windows and Mac programs (preferably Windows XP and Mac OS X).
Wine doesn’t work with PCLinuxOS. At least there isn’t a download for it.
