Hello I am going to install Debian Linux on my computer but I want to do it from a USB drive rather than a CD-ROM. How can I do it. Drive is 2GB Kingston Data Traveler, and my computer can boot from USB’s. I am running windows XP and I have a live CD of Ubuntu 7.10 with no internet working on it.

Hey, I’m trying to install Ubuntu from the live CD. The Ububtu option screen comes up, I select Start or Install Ubuntu from Live CD. Then the screen goes black for a moment and give a message giving some sort of timer error and for me to set noapic as a boot option, what could be causing this? I have ran Ubuntu perfectly fine in the past with most of the other versions, this is version 7.10 and it doesn’t seem to wanna work. Any help?
+ Same problem with Linux Mint 4.0

Would it be possible to create a program for live cd’s so i can make it install to the hard drive. For live cds which don’t let you install it.
An example of what i mean is with Fedora 7 Live, like its installer. Or, is there a auto program todo what i mean.
Ok, no one understands, im wondering how to make the install to Hard Drive option for a Linux Distro im helping develop.
And im trying to create the installer like the one Fedora 7 uses.
Hi,
Im new to linux based systems.
I downloaded Yoper Titanium 3.0 – the live CD thinking i’d be able to install it to my HDD after previewing it. When I boot with it, it comes up with a menu with 3 options. They are: Install; Live CD; and Restart Computer. There is an ‘(X)’ next to Live CD, and I cannot seem to move it. If I move up or down with the keyboard and then press Enter, the Live CD option is chosen, no matter which option is highlighted. Can I install yoper from this cd?
Thanks
