Whats the best linux live cd for me?

Well the computer is a P4, 512 ram, and its around 3ghz. Ive tried ubuntu, linux mint, and they run but pretty slow. I dont want damn small linux cause i tried that and the mouse is really weird on it. Any other suggestions? I want it to run smooth from the live cd.

what is the best Linux distro for an old crap computer?

I have an old Windows ME machine that I want to put Linux on. It’s got 128mb of RAM and a P3 processor @ about 1 Ghz.
I DO NOT want a live CD Linux, I have plenty of those that work.

I have tried and failed at getting these distros to install: Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Mint, and TurboLinux.

Is there a good non-live CD distro that has very small system requirements?

Intel iMac running Linux..?

I’m wanting to try and get my new aluminium Intel iMac 2.4ghz with 24″ screen to run some linux live cd’s, not interested in running a dual or trip-boot system yet, just wanting to test the waters, but haven’t had much luck finding any that work yet…..Can someone point me in the right direction? thanks!
Although the first answer is helpful, I repeat, I DO NOT WANT TO INSTALL LINUX AT THIS TIME, I JUST WANT TO TEST LIVE CD’S, Thank you.
