Knoppix 5.1.1 Live CD and Internet Connection?

I am trying to figure out if I can connect to the internet via Knoppix 5.1.1 live cd. Everything seems to boot just fine, and during bootup it says that eth0 and DHCP is detected. I tried to configure kwlan, but apparently I am doing it incorrectly or it isn’t possible. I am new to Knoppix and Linux and so I am not very sure. My network seems to show up in kwlan, I clicked the “Activate” button, but I cannot get online. I have no firewall. I am trying to connect with a Broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN – Packet Scheduler Miniport. Any ideas?

re-install xp problems?

Ok, I have an hp pavillion dv1000 and I was running Ubuntu (for a C programming class I was taking). Afterwards I wanted to switch back to Windows XP Pro. I used DBAN to wipe the drive clean. Afterwards I booted from the cd drive with the xp disc. Everything loaded and then when it said to press enter to continue with the installation, I got an error saying “setup did not find any hard disk installed”. I don’t understand this, when I run a Linux live cd I can view and access the hard drive, but the XP disc can’t find it. I’m planning on updating to Vista in the next few days anyways but I wanted to know what’s going on….and btw does anybody know if the same problem exists with Vista?

How to run a linux-live edition on my PC?

Ubuntu live CD broke GRUB, now what?

Long story short, a flaw in my 9.04 live CD has caused a GRUB file to disappear. My Ubuntu live cd’s stopped working, Puppy Linux live CD can’t find GRUB in my computer, and a Fedora live CD can’t even boot. I’ve tried everything I can think of to fix it, but nothing’s worked. Any ideas?
