I have a linux live cd, which I have not booted up yet. Since I do not have an external hard drive, will it be risky? Can I avoid any risks if i buy a flash drive?
I recently uninstalled a version of linux from my laptop by deleting it’s partition from my hard drive. Now I need to restore the MBR because rebooting my laptop now will result in not being able to load any OS (I’ve done this before). What software can I use to fix the Master boot record (MBR) from within Windows Vista? I really don’t want to use a Live CD but I will as a completely last resort. Thank you.
P.S.: I can’t turn off my laptop until I do so please help!!!
I meant from WITHIN Windows. How come I can fix the mbr from a linux live cd (well not really fix, but change) but I can’t do it from within Windows?
Also I don’t have the install CDs for Vista. I got it new so it only comes with the system recovery discs. Please help!

The idea is to watch my room or other part of my house by simply logon to a personal webpage when outside or out of the country.
The ideal would be a sort of gadget that even monitor temperature, humidity, image and stream all data online to be retrieve remotely in a different location.
