I already have tried the regular live cd option for Ubuntu and it did not work on my laptop because my laptop apparently does not have enough RAM to run it. I think the RAM is like 256. I’m going to be trying edubuntu and kubuntu next.

how to choose better linux distribution?
i got vista capable pc. i want to intall linux os in there apart from vista. i hav adsl connection with us robotics router (model no: 9107) i got some exp with linux. but i want to know complete details of installing linux. can u tell me where i can download linux os and installation giude. i dont hav cd burner i and i dont want live cds. i like to compile linux kernal. if i do that how can i get other applications.
can u u tell me good linux distrubution for me and anwsers for above problems

I’m looking for a console-only Linux distrobution?
Does anyone know of a console-only Linux distribution that is not a Live-CD? I want to be able to control the machine without a mouse, only a keyboard. The machine will be dedicated to folding, so I don’t need any GUI.
I don’t want to fold on a PS3, as I can’t afford one. I just want a console-only distribution to replace Damn Small Linux on my folding farm machines.

Linux Live Cd?
I download the Linux Backtrack live distribution LIVE CD. read about it here: [ http://www.remote-exploit… whenever i burned it to disk and tried to start it up , all my computer detected it as is pictures.. im just wondering how do i run this live cd ? i have windows xp professional by the way.
Nah i burned it as an iso file because i opened the file in Magic iso and burned it in it
