Ok so i just got my Ubuntu 10.04 Desktop LTS in the mail. i am using the live cd so it is basically a dual boot. but when i get into ubuntu, it says for my ethernet and wireless that it is disconnected. One time when it booted, it said for the wireless that the device was not ready. i have read around and apparently windows is screwing with my Linux. Is there a way around this crap without uninstalling windows? P.S. I have used ndisgtk.

And my laptop has no HDD in it. I run from a Ubuntu live CD and I need help. Is it possible to use the computer this way: Run from a live CD, then load contents saved from USB device, use USB Device for extra storage space, and use shared HDD from windows to linux. Please help.
i have two os in my system,ubuntu 9.04 and windows xp.
i installed windows on the linux system, obivously the grub disappeared,no bootscreen.
when i tried to startup the system i get ” no bootable device- insert bootable media”.
i tried getting through using ubuntu live cd and found both os are there and only there is problem with bootscreen.i tried grub commands.setting roots and failed many times.
i m new to to linux please help..

Basically I have a bootable CD I made and am needing to back up a sata HDD. If you would tell me step by step instructions on how to do this would be very much appreciated…
Kind need to do this for tomorrow so any urgent help would be nice 
. I f you would recomend another Bootable Iso I have one CD remaining:)
