How do i make the internet work?

I downloaded linux into a live cd. When i reboot my pc to the live cd i get in linux but when i try to use the internet i says comcast does not support linux. Is there something i can do to make the internet work other than calling comcast?

I’m using a wired connection.
My network card is:Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC
I got a live cd: ubuntu
