How to Backup and restore partition over wifi? using only GNU/GPL software?

I know about PARTIMAGE, but is there a bootable CD that includes it? and being able to setup wifi card. Maybe some LIVE CD that may be easily modifiable so I can have wifi, and partimage on this. Please suggest me options.

Ultimate Boot CD has linux and partimage, but I do not know how to enable wifi so I can restore partition stored in remote server.

(needles to say that Norton Ghost or any commercial application is out of question)

network problem with Fedora 7 – networking works on live cd but not after install?

This is on a laptop with realtek wired network interface and intel pro 2000 wireless interface. Networking all works fine on the live cd. After the livecd has been installed the networking won’t work – can’t activate the wireless card, wired interface says it is activated but won’t work and the network manager icon does not show in the system tray. I’m a linux newbie, and after searching for a while I’m stumped. Any ideas?
Thanks
Thanks for your reply, I’ve tried your suggestions. Restarting the network wouldn’t work, but after disabling the network manager and rebooting at least the wired interface is now working. However how would I use the wireless interface with WPA if the network manager tray icon is not there to enter WPA keys?

Knoppix + Wireless + USB?

I use a 2wire usb wireless card for my wireless connection (with WPA). It works in XP but Knoppix (Linux Live CD) cannot read my usb card. How can I get it to work, step-by step?

Whats the easiest version of Linux to learn from?

For someone beginning Linux from 15+ years of windows, what would be the best version of Linux to learn? Ubuntu/ Fedora/ Mandriva aren’t options due to driver conflicts with my installed Graphics card.
Though the live cds run from windows and look great, i cant get to the graphics end on boot up. the screen glows bluish black and theres nothing…

Any recommendations?
