BSOD on my inspiron 9400 every time it turns on.?

All right, today my laptop (inspiron 9400) running windows xp home edition randomly started giving me blue screen of death every time it’s turned on with this error (STOP 0×000000024 (0×00190203,0×87335828,0xc0000102,0×00000000), then later my cousin found the windows xp cd and every time we tried to use it we got this error (stop 0×000000078 (0xc0000005,0xf786a0bf,0xf7cb6208,0xf7cb5f08)
pci.sys-address f786a0bf base at f7863000,datestamp 3b7d855c), and we also tried using a live linux cd or something to be able to salvage some files to an external hard drive which is all I REALLY want to do then I’ll get my cousin to wipe it and install windows or linux on it again..but yeah, how can I salvage my files? I really need to know :(

I get a BSoD when loading windows??????

When I turn the computer ON and it boots up with Windows XP Home Edition, it just all of a sudden flashes up with the Blue Screen of Death, but only for half a second and i cant get a look at it?????

I got no idea whats going on, can someone please help me with easy steps.

I have tried using Safe Mode, and it goes through its precesses, then does the same thing, so I can’t access my computer any way, and i tried using a Live CD of Luit Linux that has been based on DAMN SMALL LINUX, and I cant access my files from Windows XP…..

The only reason im not just formatting it, is because I want to save the files on there because I need them really badly for work…..

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME PLEASEEEEEE ! ! ! !

Partmgr.sys error 10 easy points(to whoever answers and helps me correctly)?

Whenever I turn on my computer it says boot disk error insert system disk and I do then I run it and it loads up then I get the bsod(blue screen of death) and it says error can’t contue yada yada needs partmgr.sys file. So where fan I get that file? Whatfolder do I put it in? And why does it sometimes turn on with the windows xp cd inside and sometimes not? It’s really pissing me off. If I just download that file then I’ll put it in a flash drive run a live Linux cd and put it where it needs to be. Also if it has something to do with the system settings then idk. I haven’t changed anything, put more or take out RAM everything is just how it was b4. Also sometimes when the cd goes through it says drive not detected and it’s connected right I even checked.

Does this sound like a failed Hard Drive?

The computer used to boot up and work, but after a few minutes it would crash and give the blue screen of death. I thought maybe the OS had become corrupted so I deleted the current partition and created a new one so that I could reinstall Windows. However it crashed several times during the OS setup and never finished installing.

I tried using a Linux Live CD (which loads entirely into ram) and it ran fine for hours, it never crashed. I finally tried installing Linux onto the harddrive but it failed as well, now the partition editor in Linux doesn’t even recognize the HD device.

Does this situation sound like a HD failure? A while back I thought it could possibly be the power-supply but now I’m leaning towards the HD. The computer is an EMachine Desktop, bought in 2005.

Blue screen of death windows?

My girlfriend got a vaio laptop about 2 years ago. She had vista home premium on it. She had an auto update downloading and the computer shut off. This completely fried it as vista wouldnt boot, it would go to a black screen with a workable mouse. I tried to reinstall it but something keeps happening. I pop in the CD and push the button to boot from it. In that classic blue screen you used to see on ancient computers where it loads all the files, it is supposed to start up an installation process. Instead, it goes straight to the BSOD (blue screen of death) saying windows shut down to prevent damage to your computer blah blah blah. At first i thought maybe i did something wrong like the wrong OS. I had a 32bit OS and thought maybe hers is 64 bit. However this was not the problem as the same result happened. I live booted linux and completely formatted the partition so its completely blank. The same problem occurred with the BSOD. Does anyone know how i can solve this problem and reinstall the computer? I have CD’s with different OS’s on them and obtaining a certain OS isnt a problem. So please if you can help. Respond in as much detail as you can.
