no, not if you do it correctly. it will even see the NTFS drive that your windows is on so you can use all you files that you have stored on the windows partition. mp3, word, avi, wma, porn, etc…

You can partition the HDD so Windows remains intact, and Ubuntu has it’s own separate space (partition).
On startup, a prompt screen will ask which OS you want loaded.
Or, if you want the MS-OS gone, you can install as the only OS, on a single partition.
The installer is pretty straight forward & understandable.

No, you’ll be fully guided and if you do press the wrong button that leads to wiping out you will be warned.

Yes. If you tell it to use the entire disk during install it will entirely wipe *all* data from your hard drive and then install linux.
