As it’s name suggests; Windows “Media Player” is, in fact, a media PLAYER, not a media burner.
You need a program like “Roxio” ‘Sonic’, et. al.
You may also want to check your CD/DVD unit to make sure it WRITES = “W”, and is not simply a ROM = Read Only Memory. If it is a ROM, all the applications ain’t gonna help.

Yet another reason that Dell is now selling Linux on three of their systems, Lenovo is selling Linux on their IBM designed machines, and Toshiba EU is marketing Linux.
1. No “DRM”, aka Digital Rights Management
2. All drivers included in the Linux kernel
3. Linux CD burner simply works without those problems!
To run Linux in your computer,
1. download and then burn the image to a CDrom.
please verify the MD5SUM. That means that your downloaded file is exactly identical the design.
2. backup all your songs, files, on your hard drive.
3. insert the Live CDRom and reboot. You can run it Live in the CDrom, and even burn in a second drive, or, if you have 1024MB RAM, load it to Memory.
To install Linux, click the Install icon! Please realize that you can wipe out your hard drive, if you simply accept the default options in the install sequence. Choices include booting multiple OSes. Read the noob docs, on the icons on desktop.
My Dell Dimension 4100, found in a dumpster, is a 933mhz system with 512 MB RAM, and runs very fast, much better than it worked on Millenium!
It is totally immune to the “114,000 Microsoft Virus Malware Definitions”! No more virus crap!
Hey, it is Linux, that runs NASA and the Army Predators, Simulators, Tanks, and Artillery, and that already runs schools in 41 states, Google,
Microsoft.com, MSN.com, the Fortune 500 corporations, all routers, firewalls, and most state and federal government agency’s servers and computers.
