Ubuntu! You can get on the website and they will mail you a copy for free. It is very easy to install.

Yes, the Linux for now is free most especially the older version i suggest you use red hat , is simple and so friendly too

I prefer red hat over ubuntu or gentoo
cz red hat is flooded with features
