  1. Don’t worry, Cory, every Linux distro out there has the software you need, and at least half of them are LiveCDs. The choice is a matter of style, mostly. Surf to PolishLinux.org and use their distro chooser – it’s very effective.

Oh, by the way, I use Knoppix.

It’s Linux that boots from a CD so you don’t have to make a partition on your hard drive and all that.

It’s great because you can take it places and use the same programs on any computer you like.

It’s best when you use it in conjunction with a flash drive to carry your documents (or games, but you’d need an awfully big flash drive for that) around with you too.

It’s pretty much linux for games from a CD.

My favorite one on there is Battle for Wesnoth, but there are plenty on there.

If you are a gamer, Linux is not for you. However, to answer your question, I have found Ubuntu Linux to be the best distro of the ones I have tried.

  5. I hate that ‘n’, ‘g’ & any other word like that. I have problems with some versions like redhat to cover the face 6.2! I can never figure out how to partition it the way it likes. Try ditching ‘linux’ & go for a Spanish Babe M68/PPC Emulator & Workbench 3.9. or 4.0!

Or you can fight linux a bit!
