Linux.com, This video shows you how to burn the downloaded Iso to a CD. Although it shows Ubuntu, the same steps apply to other versions such as Fedora etc. Tutorial by Robin Miller. Download Link Alternate viewing method: Use your favorite media player to open this URL: www.linux.com
It depends on where you saved the file, if you used a download manager then it will be stored in the default location. Look around the File System, you will find it if download has really completed.

If it is a motherboard problem, then Linux wont make any difference to it (neither will any other OS). Replace your mobo. You can buy cheap ones from ebuyer dot com.

i downloaded the file, i extracted it and it dont show the iso

I had the same problem last night. I just restarted my PC and it worked afterwards.

Try to extract the file again, but this time target where you want the compressed file to be unzipped to. If it is downloaded as an ISO file and it is not in a zipped file, then you dont need to extract it, you just need to burn to disc.

It can be a recorder other than ISO recorder, as well.

If you have a low-end system, I strongly recommend that you do NOT browse the internet, or listen to music or IM while burning your CD – infact I suggest you start burning the CD then walk away and come back in 10 minutes – as it may cause “buffer under-run” which renders the CD useless.
