I just downloaded and burned the .iso image Ubuntu 6.0.6 also know as Daper drake and booted it off the live cd but it views very large, probably 800×600 or something. I can’t even install Ubuntu on my hard drive because I can’t even see the buttons to continue because of the resolution. How would I go about fixing this problem? Thanks in advance.
UPDATE: I tried going into System>Preferences>Resoultions and it only gave me the option 640×480. I have 512mb or memory.
Humm,
Am almost certain that u r using an integrated graphic card.
Remember you should have at least 256MB of memory to install ubuntu. If not, it will not install at all!!!!
Step by step:
1. on then top menu got to “System”
2. Preferences
3. Screen resolutions
or to user the keyboard arrows:
1. Press system
2. “1 arrow down”
3. “1 arrow left”
4. “6 arrow up”
“Enter”
5. Change your resolution to 1024×768 or as u plz
6. To apply “Alt+A”
Hope that this will help u.

i have various types of linux and to be honest there is a new linux out called “XGL” which is “more advanced than vista” and will give you a larger variety of options to choose from.
athere is an installet cd you download then you download another cd with the actual O.S. which is so large is understandable why it is so advanced and has more options.
i hope this helps in any way possible.
