ubuntu linux problem?

i have a advent 4211 notebook and im trying to run ununtu i tried to run from a live disk with a external cd drive and the error came up “udevd event (1499) ‘run_program: i /sbin/ modprobe/ arge/ block numbers;/” and i’ve installed ubuntu into windows succesfully but the same problem orrured can someone help me :) plzz

    modprobe has to do with an inventory of your attached peripherals. If I were you… I would seek the ‘gurus’ over in the Ubuntu forums for ‘real’ answes.
