What do you think about the whole new experience with Sabayon. I am trying it someday. Give me some suggestions.

well it has a very cool interface but it has a very limited programs that you can get but companies are making programs for it. also you have to have a pretty good graphics card other than thoes its very awesome but if your looking for a permanit operating system try Macintosh it (in my opinion) is the best because Windows Vista and other Windows operating systems have lots of problem (Blue screen of death, .dll problems, you have to get virus protection programs, ect.)

Thanks. I think I like it now that you say they were improving it. I’ll just use Wine to emulate some windows applications.

In all fairness linux is fine for a permanent OS. It is just as secure if not more secure that Mac, there are just as many programs in linux as either Windows or Mac have. The only issue is that it is like learning how to use a computer all over again. In linux you get all the power and performance for free as opposed to the other giants rather hefty price tags. I’m not saying either of the other two are inept but only refuting that linux is not ready as a desktop environment.

Don’t forget that if you ever really need windows/OSX you can run it as a virtual machine. It’s much much safer than running it natively.
And I applaud you having an open mind and giving Sabayon a fair shot. I just switched from Ubuntu not too long ago. *windows free since 2008 at home anyways…
