Is BIOS set up to boot from CD drive? When you start the computer press f2, f11, f12 or delete and it should bring the BIOS menu up, then select boot from CD and reboot the computer.
Good luck

Setup your CMOS.
upon boot-up, a line will appear on the screen like, “For Setup, press F1″.
Then, the second screen, in most CMOS setups, has an entry about the boot order. Make the CD the first boot device.
Save, and reboot. Hope you downloaded and burned to CD the ISO of: http://pclinuxos.com which contains 1900 games, applications, and programs, and is based upon Mandriva.
I run it, Live and, installed (it then runs upto 50X faster that Microsoft!).
