  1. I’m betting it’s stopping at video detection. I don’t have a CD at my location to tell you the wording, but there is a choice for safe install; use that one. It bypasses video card detection and installs a generic driver. Once you’re in you can search for a better video driver specific to your model. All else of the installation will be straight Ubuntu.
