1. try usb zip or usb cd for boot, just trial and error if they arent.
2. for file saftey, transfer your files off of the flash drive before reformatting and turning the usb drive into a live cd.
3. you should be able to use the flash drive for drag and drop storage afterwards.
4. with ubuntu i noticed they do let you install ubuntu next to windows, but neither gets full access to the hard drive, only a certain amount that you say each gets.

1) Your computer probably has card reader slots – that’s what those choices are. Try them. Put them all before the hard drive. (If there’s nothing in one, it’ll just keep trying the next one and the next … until it finds something bootable. It’ll delay the boot by a second or two.
2) Fedora is most likely a Live CD. Boot with it. It won’t automaticaly install itself. If you don’t get a “run Fedora from CD” choice, you can always cancel out.
3) I don’t know how Fedora installs to a flash drive but I have Ubuntu and Puppy flash drives and I can still copy Windows files to them when I’m running windows.
4) You can download the Live CD and burn it yourself – in about 15 minutes. http://fedoraproject.org/get-fedora.html

first you need to have your usb plugged in for your bios to see it . you can do both. i would remove all files then format to ext2 or ext3 . as far as Fedora i’m not sure if there is a live version of it if so then you can run off off it. if not see if it is required for the class or will a diff. linux do.there are programs to install os’s to usb drives.unetbootin is one and it will download and install a live version to your flash drive for you.http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/
