Is there a way to split a Linux live cd into several floppy disks for installation on an older laptop?

Well most of the live cds I have used are about 500 to 600 MB. You would need 400 to 500 Floppies. It would be cheaper to some how to find an external cd drive to use the Linux cd. Hopefully you have at least a usb port, if not try to find one for a serial or parallel port. Good Luck
