The best way is to create a partition for Fedora, I use fdisk but ubuntu may have some gui tool, boot from the Fedora install disk and install into that partition. After that you need to make your boot manager that Ubuntu is using aware of the kernel image that Fedora is using. I use to copy the kernel from one linux boot partition/directory to the my main boot partition/directory. I believe with some boot managers like grub you can just point grub to the boot directory of Fedora. Make sure when you install Fedora you don’t install a boot manager.
