i want to put a bootable cd ISO image on a pendrive, so that i can boot from it.. any ideas?

   Yes you can depending on the version of the kernel

   if you know how to use knoppix, you can dump the OS to a harddrive or thumb drive.
   if i recall, at the boot prompt, it’s tohd=/dev/whatever the usb device is. it takes a while, and make sure your thumb drive is large enough.
   you’ll need a cd burnder btw, or vmware or something
