i put the live disc of ubuntu linux hardy heron in my cd drive it loads then comes up with a grey screen?

how do i stop this the disc works in my other computer?
ubuntu 8.04 hardy heron LTS 128 mb ram
it also (sometimes) has the desktop background or the mouse?
it comes up with a blue square which then turns into a window after about twenty years of loading but there’s nothing in it!
i WONT give up!

  1. Get 9.10. Seriously though it might be some sort of a driver issue and it just stalls where you’re at, the newer one (9.10) might have the correct driver to get past there.

  2. If I were you I would go with karmic. It’s more likely to be up to date with your computer, and is likely to have more bugs hammered out.
    Mint is also a great ubuntu based distro
