I boot up from cd..it show linux ubuntu logo and starting to launch…after that display becomes black and nothing happens…on my desktop pc it works perfectly. Why it won’t launch on laptop?? I have live cd….Sorry for my eng

Laptops are notorius for being difficult to get Linux in general to load on, you should be installing Ubuntu Studio 8.04:

If Acer is anything like it was 10 years ago then it’s probably a proprietary thing. Acer’s philosophy is that you should be satisfied with their computers right out of the box. When you start fiddling around with them – like upgrading – they start to cause problems. I wonder if the clock batteries are still soldered to the motherboard. Hmmmm…..
