    ok please help, i followed all your steps, sucessfully installed ubuntu and NOW I CANT BOOT BACK TO VISTA!! when i check my hardrive space on ubuntu, it says its completly empty!! when i got to the boot menu and boot the “toshiba default” it boots ubuntu PLEASE HELP

  8. you can do a dual boot… it will give u an option when you install to keep ur windows files

  12. Thanks, that looked pretty easy on the video, actually i´m thinking to change to ubuntu… kind of tired of giving my money away to B.Gates,…hmmm.
    Are there any troubleshooting videos you recommend in case you run into trouble when installing?

  15. That particular error means that during boot Ubuntu is probing for a flash drive on your system that doesn’t exist. I’m guessing you have a laptop with a removable floppy drive. You need to boot from the live cd and edit your config files. How to do that depends on what version of Ubuntu you are running. Are you running 9.04 or 9.10?

    Ok, so long story short….I have a PC that I removed Windows XP on when I had no concept of PCs, got an isntallation disk, put windows back on, ran like shit because of the lack of drivers. Did nothing about it, went and got a new PC. Now I’m into to PCs, can I take my old driver less, Windows XP (1g Ram), and simply install this on it and have it run fine?

  22. 4:40 when I click the install button, instead of going to the orange Ubuntu loading screen, it goes to a solid black screen and hangs there. Can anyone offer any support?
