How to Install Linux on my mac?

Hi i am running mac osx 10.5 and i have been bugging to try linux.I want to run a live cd but i don’t know what version of linux to get. is there a default version of linux? if so, i want the regular linux or the most popular. Also how do i download it?

  1. You really have a lot of choices when it comes to Linux distributions. Probably the most popular one now is Ubuntu, which has a live boot CD.

    As far as downloading, you can go to the distributions site, like this http://www.ubuntu.com/, and from there its pretty user friendly to get started.
