How to format my Linux harddrive to NTFS?

I had a windows vista, then I totally took it off, and put Kubuntu Linux on it with a live cd disk.
I have a windows vista disk and im trying to put vista back on but when i try to format the drive it says its unable to because its not NTFS. How do I take off the linux format and put ntfs on so i can put windows back on?

  1. Use the Ubuntu live cd, run gparted and set the partition type to ntfs. There’s probably a way to do it in Windows, but I’ve never used a Vista boot disk.
