How can I share a HDD?

I run Ubuntu from a live cd on a laptop. How can I share HDD over a network from windows to linux?

    Linux uses different sharing technique, so in order to communicate with windows computers you need to install a software package called Samba. This will allow your linux to see windows shares on the network and share it’s own files and folder towards windows computers.

    Be advised: Since you use a live cd you would need to go through the whole process every time after you boot up your computer.
