how can i install fedora 10 dvd edition if my dvd is not working,?

I have a Toshiba laptop but it’s DVD / CD is not working, I have an external harddisk . I will like to install Linux for a project but i do not know how.I do not want to use a live disk

  1. Install Fedora in a virtual environment. You can do that with VirtualBox. Just download the ISO, mount it w/ VirtualBox, then install. You can run your computer and Fedora at the same time. Just make sure you have enough RAM, like 3 GB+.

I have to post my opinion on this… I used to love Fedora, but I stopped at FC5 because its garbage… when I last used it Fedora Legacy went under, and Fedora was releasing 1 or 2 versions of FC every year… and no longer offering legacy support… I think you need to use a better RedHat clone than Fedora Core… try using CentOS 5. Its very stable, and very well supported. And it runs 100% identical to Fedora Core, and you can burn a DVD, or burn 5 regular CDs to install.
