Help with a image file?

Hello Noobe here,
What is a image file. I’m trying to down a Linux live cd But dont know what a image file Is. Is it something I need to do like right clack and hit copy like a photo or something? I dont know.

  1. You can say image file is like a virtual cd file. you need. winiso or virtual cd , this type of software to read it.

  2. You download it and then burn it to a CD using Nero or Easy Creator.

    It will then boot and run from the CD.

    As a newbie to Linux suggest you try UBUNTU as it is very user friendly plus has an excellent starter guide in WIKI. You can download UBUNTU at http://www.ubuntu.com

  3. For one, if your computer isn’t a Linux OS (operating system), this file your trying to download will never work. OK, now for the instructions. Right click on the image, then select “save image as…”. a separate window will open up. choose a folder,or just press “save”. then, when you need to open it, right click on Start, select “explore”, then locate the folder.

    P.S. These instructions are for Windows XP only
