comcast does not support your os?

i installed a live cd of linux but i cant use the internet. how can i fix this without calling comcast. and its bactrack i downloaded

    I very much doubt your ISP is the issue here; I use Linux full-time and have Comcast. The problem is likely whatever you are using to connect to the internet. Are you connected directly to the cable modem via USB? Are you using a wireless card and router? I don’t have much experience with BackTrack personally; my understanding is that it is a security-oriented distro, so it may not even activate the network interface by default.
