i am currently running linux ubuntu 7.10. i just installed it with a live cd. i have a lg cd driver. i am trying to burn a couple of iso to some blank cd’s but they wont show up and when i put a identical disk in with music or files the computer understands it. can somebody tell me what is causing this and how to fix the problem?

From your description I cannot work out exactly how far you have got in the process. Have you actually been able to get the lg drive to start burning to the cds? If so then your problem will be that no program appears to be able to read them after you have burnt them.
In the software you are using to burn them (please tell us what it is), if there is an option to “finalise the disk” then check that and see if any disks you then burn are ok.
I have had problems with some cd burning software in ubuntu when trying to burn cd’s with audio tracks on an LG drive, I did get it solved but I can’t remember how, but it is possible!

They’re always ready to help and chances are it is probably a common problem.
You might want to check if the cds are readable under Mac OSX or Windows to help narrow down the cause of the problem.
