ok so i just finished building my first pc and it worked on my first try only problem is tht i dont have an operating system yet and i dont really feel like spending $200 for windows 7 right now dont really have the cash for it yet.. my question, is it possible that i can use linux mint 8 livecd without installing it to my hard drive i just wanna try out linux mint8 until i get windows 7 and if i like linux mint 8 i might just dual boot it can someone please give an answer?? am i gonna have any issues since my computer has no operating system or tht i just barely finished building it?? thanks in advance also im a linux newbie!! and pc builder newbie!! if tht helps i just barely started getting into this kinda stuff
Dan you can try many linux distro live and although that will never be the same as running a permanent OS especially cause a live cd cannot install the right drives it wlll give you an idea what your linux will look like on your computer. Take the time to test a few and really personalize YOUR linux you will love it!

Linux Mint 8 will run just fine from the LiveCD the only downside being is you cannot save any settings between sessions so you will need to leave your PC switched on
