Normally to make a live cd, you would download the iso from the linux distro of your choice and if they have a live cd, download it and then burn it to disk with an iso burning software. Try PowerISO. Then if you want to dual boot you may have to get a visual boot tool like GAG and then you can dual boot.

  3. Yea there is a free software out there called infra recorder, you can burn .iso and some other file extensions images with it. Download your Linux from like a trusted site aka http://www.linux.com etc. Oh make sure that your boot is set up properly, so it boots from the CD first not the HD.

P.S. to mount the image in infra recorder just go to Actions > Burn Image.

    Linux Slackware link:

Click on the 2nd option at the right that says “Slackware DVD 12.2 (ISO)” and then use infra recoder with it when your done.
